At HSUHK, we believe that a strong sense of belonging is nurtured through vibrant campus life and active student engagement. By participating in exciting campus events, student leadership programmes, cultural groups, and student organisations, our students build meaningful connections and lasting shared experiences. Through these opportunities, they develop essential skills for their future endeavors while contributing to a supportive community grounded in empathy, inclusion, and mutual respect. Together, we shape HSUHK as more than just a place to study. It is a dynamic and welcoming home where every student feels valued and truly belongs.

HSUHK campus is always fueled by vibrant events and activities, keeping the university energetic and dynamic. Large-scale events such as the HSUHK Welcome Fest and New Student Welcome Day create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for freshmen beginning their university journey. Meanwhile, the seasonal Chill Chordyard event provides a relaxing space where all students can unwind, chill with friends, and enjoy the moment amid their busy academic life.

SAO's Student Leadership Programmes build visionary, socially responsible future leaders through experiential learning, nurturing talent and honing leadership skills across 4 core programmes:

HSUHK Flag-raising Team

The Flag-raising Team is a distinctive uniformed unit at HSUHK dedicated to cultivating national identity and discipline through structured ceremonial training. Beyond performing flag-raising ceremonies at major events, the Team connects with local communities to advance national education and instill positive values in society.

HSUHK Student Ambassadors

Through communication, leadership training, and hands-on service, the HSUHK Student Ambassadors Programme builds students' confidence and nurtures them to become capable future leaders with a strong commitment to serving the University and the community, enabling them to embody the "To Learn + To Serve" ethos and represent HSUHK professionally and with genuine care.

HSUHK Wofoo Leader's Network

HSUHK Wofoo Leader's Network provides students with opportunities to develop attributes of future leaders, such as responsible citizenship, teamwork and problem-solving skills, through active engagement in community service and cross-institutional projects.

ICAC Ambassadors Programme

ICAC Ambassadors Programme offers students the opportunity to serve as campus ambassadors, taking on leadership roles to promote ethics and integrity through creative on-campus activities and awareness campaigns.

Through participation in the cultural groups at HSUHK, students can showcase their talents, connect with peers who share similar interests, build confidence, forge lifelong friendships, and cultivate a strive-for-excellence attitude that contributes to their personal development.

Cultural Groups at HSUHK:

At HSUHK, the Students' Union (HSUSU) and its affiliated Students' Associations, Residents' Associations, Clubs and Societies enable students to develop essential leadership, organisational, and coordination skills through their student-led programmes and activities. These are supported by the guidance, resources, and administrative assistance of SAO, including the Student Leaders Enhancement Scheme which provides targeted opportunities for student leaders to further enhance their capabilities.

Recognised student organisations under HSUSU serve a one-year term of office from 1 March to the end of February. For the full list of recognised student organisations, please refer to here.
