HSUHK cares deeply about students' holistic well-being, encompassing their physical, mental, and spiritual health. The University's Mental Wellness and Personal Growth initiatives are designed to support students in building resilience, managing stress, and developing a balanced mindset.

Through counselling services, a variety of workshops and self-development programmes, HSUHK empowers students to nurture their mental health and achieve meaningful personal growth throughout their university journey.

SAO supports students' mental well-being and personal growth through psychological counselling, individual consultations, and psychotherapy services offered by a team of professional counsellors, with support from a clinical psychologist. These services offer comprehensive mental health support and guidance to students throughout their university journey.

The Mental Health First Aid Certificate Course equips students with the knowledge and skills to conduct preliminary assessments and provide immediate, appropriate support to individuals experiencing mental health concerns. The course also raises students' awareness of mental health, teaching them how to maintain psychological well-being, manage daily stress, and build positive interpersonal relationships. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate endorsed by Orygen, the Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne.

SAO organises a wide variety of programmes and events to promote mental wellness within the HSUHK community. Key initiatives, including the HSUHK Wellathon, the New Student Adaptation Programme, and art workshops, enable students to deepen their self-understanding, strengthen mental health awareness, and build a solid foundation for both personal growth and successful studies.

Peer support is one of the core pillars of student well-being, particularly for those facing adjustment difficulties, psychological challenges, or adaptation issues. The Peer Mentor Scheme trains students to become Peer Mentors who provide emotional support with a caring mindset, refer them to professional counsellors when necessary, and develop their own knowledge and skills in psychological first aid. Peer mentors also organise various campus activities to promote mental wellness across the HSUHK student community.
