CHK Joint-U Tapeball Cricket Sixes 2022-23 (Season 4)
HSUHK as Runner-up at the Joint-Uni Cricket Plate Tournament

The annual Joint-Uni Tapeball 2022 organised by Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) was held in Kam Tin on last Saturday 19 November. Among the eight teams, HSUHK competed in the Plate (Div. 2) together with HKU, HKMU and VTC. HSUHK was awarded the Runner-Up in the Plate Tournament after losing the year’s champion HKU and won VTC in the semi-finals. Supported by the Student Affairs Office (Physical Education Section), the Centre for Asian Languages and Cultures (CALC) has always endeavoured to promote cricket, a popular sport in South Asia at the University. To foster social inclusion and cultural diversity with sports, HSUHK is one of very few higher institutes that encourages both South Asian and Chinese students in the squad. Over the past few years, the performance and improvements of our students have won for themselves recognition from the CHK personnel, the umpires, and the other teams.

Volleyball Invitation Competition 2022

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) Volleyball Invitation Competition 2022 was held on 9th and 22nd of October at the Sports Hall of the Lee Shau Kee Complex. The Women’s Team of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) won the 1st place with 2 wins and 1 defeat while the Men’s champion was scored by the Vocational Training Council (VTC).

This competition was unlike any others as it was a coordinated effort among HSUHK, HKMU, VTC and the Hong Kong Shue Yan University. Students from the four institutions performed the duties of referees, scorers and photographers on the court. Each player also went home with a luggage tag designed by the organiser as a souvenir; the luggage tag bears the mottos of the participated schools that signifies the collaboration.

2017-2018 USFHK Dragon Boat Championships Representative Team

Representative Team joined the “2017-2018 USFHK Dragon Boat Championships” on 28 April 2018. 21 team members were selected to represent HSMC on the event day. The members participated in the men’s small boat and mixed small boat competitions. HSMC team entered the repechage successfully in all events. The races were physically and mentally challenging, but all rowers enjoyed the race very much and expected a better result in the coming years.

Sharing from Hong Kong Fencing Representative Ms. Vivian Kong
on 22 November 2017

Physical Education Section, Student Affairs Office (SAO PE Section) provides an encouraging environment for students to establish and explore their abilities and potential in different sports. With the support of SAO, over two hundred sports teams’ members have been developed and are managed by the PE Section and its team coaches. The University Teams have represented HSUHK in the competitions held by USFHK in the past few years. In order to promote the competitive performance of the team members, friendly matches are regularly organized with local and overseas institutions’ sports teams.

Have you dreamed of becoming an athlete? Did you ever see yourself putting in your full effort on the court? Or have you thought of someone telling you: “Hey, you are such a good player. You are such an inspiration to me. I am so proud of you.”

A dream without action is merely a wish.  Like what Joe Sabah said, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Here’s a chance for you to start to be great. We are now inviting you to join the sports teams and get yourself involved in regular weekly training, friendly matches representing HSUHK in various competitions, or sports exchange programs. An official team member enjoys benefits such as team jersey, centralized training camps, formal training from a licenced coach, opportunity to join competitions and/ or exchange; leadership training, sports workshops and/ or seminars. You may also feel pain, sweat, frustration and lost as well as sacrifice numerous dating nights, study and online-networking time. Nevertheless, as the trade-off, you may have unforgettable, priceless campus life if you are Phdedicated enough.
