Basic Cantonese Tutorial 廣東話基礎班

The Rise Project offers a Cantonese class for non-local students. This course is specifically designed for mainland students and teaches basic Cantonese. The content covers everyday expressions and common situational dialogue exercises, providing students with a fundamental understanding of the language.

HSUHK x CSSA Non-local Students Orientation Night
非本地學生迎新之夜

To help the Class of 2025 quickly adapt to life at Hang Seng University and in Hong Kong, experience the warmth and vitality of the school, and enhance their sense of belonging and collective cohesion, the Student Affairs Office of HSUHK has specially invited the CSSA to co-host a welcome event for new students. Through a variety of interactive activities and the warm guidance of senior students, they will become familiar with campus culture and meet like-minded peers in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, starting their new university life with great enthusiasm.

The activities that evening include Anti- Scam promotion, dinner, speeches by the Principal and the Director of Student Affairs, a dance and song performance, sharing of a Hong Kong living guide, icebreaker games, and game awards.

為幫助25屆新生快速融入恒生大學和香港的生活,感受學校的溫暖與活力,增強歸屬感與集體凝聚力,恒生大學學生事務處特邀CSSA共同舉辦新生迎新活動。通過豐富多彩的互動環節和學長學姐的暖心引導,讓他們在輕鬆愉快的氛圍中熟悉校園文化,結識志同道合的夥伴,以滿滿的熱情開啟嶄新的大學生活。
 
當晚活動包括防詐宣傳、晚餐、校長致辭、學生事務總監致辭、舞蹈歌曲表演、香港生活指南分享、破冰遊戲及遊戲頒獎。

Anti Scam 提防騙案

Alert: Increase in Telephone Fraud

Telephone fraud has risen in recent years. To protect yourself from deception, we strongly recommend accessing the latest phone scam at 電話騙案手法全解構 防騙要訣一文看清

Additionally, please visit the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre’s website at www.adcc.gov.hk/en-hk/home.html for the latest information on scam tactics and alerts. It’s important to share this information with your classmates and friends.

You can also check the latest scam alerts (click here) and use the Scameter tool to identify potential fraud and online threats.

Important Tips to Avoid Telephone Fraud:

  • Protect Your Information: Never disclose personal details to strangers, including your HKID number, bank account information, online banking accounts, or PIN codes.
  • Be Cautious with Downloads: Avoid downloading unknown applications, clicking on suspicious links, or opening attachments in emails from unknown sources. Do not enter information into unfamiliar apps or websites.
  • Stay Informed: Keep an eye on the Anti-Fraud Coordination Center’s website at https://www.adcc.gov.hk/en-hk/home.html and remind your friends and classmates to do the same.
  • Seek Help if Needed: If you have concerns, contact the Police’s Anti-Scam Helpline at 18222 or call 999 for emergencies.

Final Reminder: Scammers use various tactics, but their ultimate goal is to steal your money. Always remember to “pause, check, and investigate” before responding to any financial requests to safeguard your assets.

Programme Objectives
活動目的

  • The HSUHK Flag-raising Group, established in 2024, aims to cultivate national identity and foster a strong sense of belonging to both the nation and the university among students. Through rigorous training and participation in solemn flag-raising ceremonies held on key dates (such as January 1st, July 1st, October 1st, and other major HSUHK events), the programme is designed to instill discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. Members will develop a profound respect for national symbols, enhance their civic awareness, and contribute to a dignified campus atmosphere. Opportunities for training as flag bearers, escorts, and emcees will be provided, equipping students with valuable organizational and public speaking skills. Exceptional members will also have the chance to represent HSUHK in inter-university competitions, bringing honor to the institution. All passionate undergraduate students are welcome to join this group, dedicated to promoting unity and personal growth while serving the university community.

 

  • 香港恒生大學升旗小組於2024年成立,旨在培養同學的國家認同感及對大學的歸屬感。透過嚴謹的訓練和參與莊嚴的升旗儀式(包括每年1月1日、7月1日、10月1日及其他大學大型活動日),升旗小組致力於培養同學的紀律、團隊合作及領導才能。成員將加深對國家象徵的尊重,提升公民意識,營造莊重的校園氛圍。升旗小組提供擎旗手、護旗手及司儀等多方面的專業培訓,幫助同學提升組織能力及公開演講技巧。優秀成員更有機會代表香港恒生大學參加全港性比賽,為校爭光。誠邀所有熱愛國家及學校的同學加入,一同促進團結、成長並服務校園社群。

Student Leaders Enhancement Series (SLES)

To equip the office bearers of student organisations with knowledge and skills in running and managing a student organisation as well as planning and organising events, Student Affairs Office offered a series of training sessions for them.

The workshops cover various aspects, including but not limited to tips on activity design and facilitation skills, financing and risk management, careful handling of personal data, sexual harassment prevention, organising eco-friendly and sustainable events, etc. To facilitate the above training, external parties, including the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data and etc., are invited to be the guest speakers.

Besides the tailor-made training, SAO also offers ongoing advice and support services to student organisations.

One-off Seed Money

One-off Seed Money

The purpose of One-off Seed Money is to support the initial development of HSUHK students’ association, as well as to support the students’ association to achieve its purpose in its constitution.

Eligibility

  • Affiliated Students’ Association (SA) and Student Residents’ Association (SRA) under the HSUSU will be invited to apply for the subsidy within the University financial year of its first inception.

Subsidy Level

One-off Seed Money of $5,000 will be subsidized for each SA/ SRA.

Hsin Chong - K.N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund for Joint Student Projects
(1st Round)

Application Deadline: 30 October 2025 (Thur), 12:00 noon

The Incorporated Trustees of the Hsin Chong – K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund will make available HK$250,000 to award subsidies for joint student projects to be undertaken by full-time students from at least three of the following twelve institutions, namely, Saint Francis University, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong.

The purpose of the subsidies is to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation among students of the tertiary institutions and to encourage creative and constructive endeavours which are conducive to students’ learning and overall development.

Eligibility

  • Open for application by all full-time students of above eleven institutions as individuals or student societies.
  • A joint student project that is organized jointly by students from at least three or more tertiary institutions as listed above. 

Application Procedures

Interested students / student organisations / student groups please submit the duly completed application form together with the detailed project proposal via email (sfr@hsu.edu.hk) to the Scholarships and Student Finance Unit on or before the application deadline.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed in terms of its creativity and originality of the project; its contribution to the promotion of student activities and student services in general and its overall viability in implementation.

Priority will be given to worthwhile projects which involve a large number of students whether as participants or organisers.

Amount of Award

The award is intended as a subsidy for the encouragement of the project.  Normally only a part of the total expenses required will be covered. 

Successful applicants are expected to make proper acknowledgement of The Incorporated Trustees of Hsin Chong – K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund on the promotion materials of their projects.

Project Completion Date

Projects must be completed on or before 31 August 2026.
