Career Advisory Session

Career Advisory Session is offered to all full-time students and recent graduates of HSUHK.

Date and time: All year round (for available timeslots, please refer to the booking page below)
Duration: around 45 minutes per session
Venue: Online Session via Microsoft Teams / Face-to-Face

The one-on-one career advisory session aims to assist students in identifying their career goals and preparing for their future career. Students could raise their career concerns during the session, which may include, but not limited to, enquiries on career direction, job market information, resume and cover letter writing skills, interview skills, job searching skills, etc.

Before booking a session, please read through the instructions and details below.

A. Steps to book a session

You may reserve a career advisory session easily by inputting the required information in the booking page (CLICK HERE). Reservation is on first-come-first-served basis. An auto-email will be generated by Outlook to confirm your reservation.

Please ensure that you are available at the specific timeslot before you make the reservation.

To complete the booking, you are required to upload your resume and/or cover letter at this link (need to log-in your HSU’s M365 account) at least one working day before your appointment. The submission of resume is compulsory, which allows our career officers to understand your background in advance. The submission of cover letter is optional but highly encouraged. Please save your file as “your name_resume” (e.g. “Chan Tai Man_resume”) or “your name_cover letter” (e.g. “Chan Tai Man_cover letter”). Our office has the right to cancel booking of students who fail to upload the resume and/or cover letter prior to their scheduled appointments.

After you have completed Step 1 & 2 as instructed, your booking is then confirmed. Your career advisor will send you a link for the meeting (you may need to download and install Microsoft Teams to attend the session), then please join the “meeting” on time.

B. Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend the scheduled session due to unforeseen reasons/urgent matters, please send your cancellation request to careers@hsu.edu.hk ASAP. Students who wish to cancel the appointment should give one-day advanced notice. Those who fail to do so and/or end up being absent from the scheduled session will not be eligible to make appointments for a period of 30 days, counting from the date the appointment is missed. The names of the no-show students will also be recorded as a reference for your application for any of CPD programmes and activities (i.e. jobs/internships, etc.).

If you have any queries on the above, please contact us at (852) 3963 5560 or careers@hsu.edu.hk
