HSMC x AU
Service-learning Trip 2016/17
This year, from 16th to 29th July, 15 HSMC students from the HSMC Volunteer Team Student Organising Committee and 20 students of the Asia University joined hands to serve the local community. The first part of the programme took students to Food Angel, homes for the aged and hostel for the mentally disabled persons in Hong Kong, and engage in caring projects coordinated by HSMC Volunteer Team Members. In the reciprocal visit to Taiwan, students reached out the the homeless, children with disabilities and the abandoned animals.
Beyond engagement in services, discussions on social policy and community support services between two places were conducted to enhance students’ understanding on these issues.
