To comply with immigration regulations and ensure a seamless studying experience, all non-local students at the University must hold a valid student visa that allows them to stay legally throughout their academic programs. Not adhering to the conditions of their stay could result in legal repercussions. The University is dedicated to offering guidance and support to assist students in effectively managing visa-related issues.

It is crucial for non-local students to keep their student visas valid at all times. Any violations or breaches of the conditions of their stay may lead to prosecution by the Immigration Department. If found guilty, individuals could face a Level 5 fine (HK$50,000) and be imprisoned for up to two years.

為了遵守移民法規並確保順利的學習體驗，所有非本地學生必須持有有效的學生簽證，以維持在學術課程期間的合法居留。未遵守居留條件可能會導致法律後果。大學致力於提供指導和支持，幫助學生有效處理與簽證相關的事務。非本地學生必須隨時保持他們學生簽證的有效性。任何違反或違背居留條件的行為均可能導致入境事務處的起訴。如果被定罪，個人可能面臨第五級罰款（港幣50,000元）和最高兩年的監禁。

Study VISA

  • Apply for a student visa through the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
  • Required documents include an admission letter from HSUHK, proof of financial support, and completed visa application forms.
  • Processing time is typically 4-6 weeks, so apply early.

Landing Slip

  • Upon arrival in Hong Kong, you will receive a landing slip as proof of legal entry.
  • Keep this document safe, as it may be required for further administrative processes.

Things to Bring

  • Personal identification (passport, visa).
  • Academic documents (transcripts, certificates).
  • Essentials (clothing suitable for Hong Kong’s climate, toiletries).
  • Laptop and necessary school supplies.
  • Any prescribed medications and a basic first-aid kit.

  • 如果您計劃停留超過180天，請在抵達後30天內申請香港身份證。前往入境事務處申請；所需文件包括您的學生簽證和登陸紙。

學生八達通卡

  • 獲取學生八達通卡，以便在公共交通上方便出行及在各商店享受折扣。有關學生八達通卡的詳細信息，請參考地鐵學生旅遊計劃 | 學生事務處。

Getting to Know HSUHK

  • Familiarize yourself with the campus layout, facilities, and student services by visiting the HSUHK website.
  • Attend orientation sessions hosted by HSUHK to learn about academic resources, clubs, and support services.

HKID Card

  • Apply for a Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID) within 30 days of arrival if you plan to stay longer than 180 days.
  • Visit the Immigration Department for the application; necessary documents include your study visa and landing slip.

Upon your arrival in Hong Kong, you will be issued a landing slip by the Hong Kong Immigration Department. This document, commonly referred to as the “小白條,” contains important information, including your English name, travel document number, date of arrival, and the conditions and duration of your stay in Hong Kong.

It is a crucial official document that you must carry with you at all times during your studies in Hong Kong.

當你抵達香港時，將由香港入境事務處發放一份入境標籤，俗稱「小白條」。這份文件包含重要資訊，包括你的英文姓名、證件號碼、入境日期以及在香港的逗留條件和期限。

這是一份重要的官方文件，您在香港學習期間必須隨身攜帶。

Guidelines for Selecting Electrical Appliances
選擇電器的指引

Electrical Voltage Standards in Hong Kong
The standard electrical voltage in Hong Kong is 220 volts AC at 50Hz. Please ensure that you purchase only electrical appliances that comply with local safety regulations (see note 1) for use in Hong Kong. Appliances brought in from outside Hong Kong may not be suitable for local power supply conditions (such as rated voltage and frequency) and environmental factors (such as temperature and humidity).

插頭標準
Hong Kong primarily uses a 3-pin UK-style plug. Students must buy and use electrical appliances equipped with a 3-pin plug that meets safety standards.

香港的電壓標準
香港的標準電壓為220伏特交流電，頻率為50赫茲。請確保所購買的電器符合當地法定安全規範（見附註1），以便在香港使用。從外地帶回的電器可能不適合在本港的電力供應條件（例如額定電壓和頻率）及環境因素（如溫度和濕度）下使用。
