Terms & Conditions

Borrowers must read through the following Terms and Conditions before borrowing:

Eligibility

Only students or staff at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong are eligible to borrow sports equipment from the PE Unit. 

Item Collection Period

Borrowers should collect the reserved items within 3 working days upon receiving the confirmation email issued by PE Unit. Any uncollected items after the collection period will be released to all to borrow.

Borrowing Limit

Each borrower can borrow one item listed in the loan item list each time.

Time Limit for Borrowing

Borrowers can borrow each item for up to 14 days. 

Overdue Punishment

An overdue punishment will be imposed on each and every loan item if returned late as it will affect the use of PE services and facilities. Any item(s) that are not returned within the “Time Limit of Borrowing” will be deemed as lost. Borrowers will be liable to pay an indemnity for the borrowed item(s). 

Renewal of Loan Item

Unless reserved by another borrower, the borrower can renew each loaned item up to 2 conservative times and up to 14 days for each renewal. 

Equipment can be renewed in person or by sending a request to saope@hsu.edu.hk 3 working days prior to the due date. In case there is another individual who has reserved the item, the priority will be given to the next borrower.

The new due date is calculated from the day the item is renewed, which is irrespective of the original due date. A loan period of 14 days is still applicable and will not be extended even if the item is renewed earlier.

All loan items, which can no longer be renewed, must be returned to the PE Unit by the due date. Overdue punishment is also applicable to renewed items. 

Reserved Item

Borrowers can reserve an item that has been checked out. 

A confirmation email will be sent to those who have reserved the item when the item is ready for collecting. Again, borrowers should collect the reserved items within 3 working days upon the collection date.  Any uncollected items after the collection period will be released to all to borrow.

Replacement Cost for Lost or Damaged Item

The borrower will be liable to pay an indemnity to any damages and loss of any borrowed items
