Self Study Room in Library

The Student Affairs Office collaborates with the Library to provide academic support facilities and services to students with special educational needs. A barrier-free self-study room (A108) is located on the 1/F of the Library which is accessible during library opening hours. For reservations, please visit the Library website.

Computer: Equipped with assistive technologies including NVDA Screen Reading Software (Details & User Guideline), EasyDots (Details), Braille Instant Translation and Editing (BRITE) (Details), and Tiger Software Suite (Details).
OrCam Read: OrCam Read is a portable gadget that captures text, converts it into audible speech, and begins reading it aloud to the user. It is suitable for individuals with mild visual impairment or reading difficulties like dyslexia. For details, please approach the library staff at the Service Counter on 1/F.

Prayer Room
The Prayer Room (H101A) is a multi-faith facility, open to HSUHK students and staff members of all faiths and nationalities. It provides a quiet space where all may pause to pray and experience stillness and peace.
Opening Hours: Mondays – Fridays 09:00 – 21:00 (Except public holidays)
Location: H101A, 1/F, Old Hall Building (Please enter the building via the door#1 next to M Canteen)
- All HSUHK students and staff members of all faiths and nationalities are welcome.
- Please take off your shoes before you enter the Prayer Rooms.
- The west side of the prayer room, known as the Qibla, is located at the door.
- Maintain a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. Keep mobile phones silent/vibrate mode.
- Keep the room tidy. Return furniture to its original arrangement and leave the curtains open after use.
- Avoid bringing food or drinks into the room to maintain cleanliness and respect the sacredness of space.
- Do not leave personal belongings unattended. The CDMO is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Be mindful of time spent in the room, especially during peak hours. If there is a wait list, limit your stay to 15 mins and allow others access.
- Use the space solely for its intended purpose: prayer, meditation, or quiet reflection. Avoid using it for meetings, social gatherings or storage.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the prayer room.
